According to the Blin family, the St-Barth Cata Cup is an exceptional promotional event for the F18 class. A solid performance from the Blin brothers at the Gentlemen’s Cup de Loctudy last May gave them their ticket to the St-Barth Cata Cup. Since Vincent was not able to attend, daddy Blin happily jumped in!
 

Nicolas, you won the Gentlemen’s Cup with your brother but you will be racing with your father at the St-Barth Cata Cup. Will your preparation be any different ?

Nicolas : My father Frank, my brother Vincent and I alternate regatas according to our availabilities et preferences. Vincent will be on his honeymoon during the St-Barth Cata Cup so my father happily jumped in.

Each of us has their own preferences : my father enjoys raids and loves to circumvent natural borders. My brother prefers leeward courses. 
As for myself, I always crew and enjoy taking part in both types of racing.

Our preparation is the same and we always have one objective in mind: have lot’s of fun, good gliding, good vibes and try to do the best we can in rankings. Not so easy when you have such a great competitive field !

In any case, we are delighted to be part of this amazing event and we will do our best to honour the Gentlemen !

 

Frank, you will be back for your second time. What do you like about this event ?

Frank : The context of this regatta is exceptional. We are totally taken care of right upon our arrival on the Island until the very end: the organisation is very well-run and it makes this week-long event truly exceptional. Being from Saint Malo, we are used to harsher conditions, so it is nice for us to sail in such perfect weather : sun, wind and warm water. All we need to do is spread on the sunscreen !

 

One word (or two !) to describe the St-Barth Cata Cup ?

Frank : The St-Barth Cata Cup is the promotional event of the F18 class. Well-known professionals and amateurs come together to race in an ideal setting. In one word : DREAM ! We would like to thank the French F18 Association et the event organisers who every year, allow the winners of the Gentlemen’s Cup to take part in this unique experience. We invite everyone to register and attempt to win next year’s National F18 !
