Let’s rewind to the 2015 edition when Belgian crew Patrick Demesmaecker and Olivier Gagliani took home the honours after their 7th year sailing the regatta. In their own words, it seems that the secret of their success is to sail together only once per year in St-Barth!

And they are looking to repeat their winning formula this year to defend their title! As many racers have already started their season, so have the sailors from St-Barth who were competing in the friedly Tour 2016, organized by the Nautical Center of St-Barthélemy on May 1st. The winners of the Tour were none other than David Guiheneuc and Noah Turtschi. In great shape, they also broke the record, previously held by Jeff Ledée and Vincent Jordil, by close to 3 minutes setting a new time of 1h21mn46s. Noah and David had performed well at the last edition of the St Barth Cata Cup, finishing 2nd of the St-Barth Assurances/Allianz Prize (Saturday) and 1st overall among the local crews. Could they potentially finish top 3 at the 9th edition? We’ll have to wait and see!
